theBack is a satirical magazine that merges the aesthetics of 1980s editorial advertising with the wit and humor of MAD Magazine. Designed as a full publication make up entirely of advertisements, theBack is meant to critique consumer culture by exaggerating the visual tropes of vintage advertisements. Drawing inspiration from bold layouts, pun-based headlines, and vibrant imagery, theBack uses nostalgia and humor as a way to provide commentary on the influence of corporations.
